Certification Publication
Permission to show one of your certifications alongside your work.
MyQTAG keeps the certifications you hold — the scheme, the certificate number and its validity dates — as part of your own record. They are private by default. Nothing you enter is shown to anyone outside your own account unless you decide, certificate by certificate, that it may be.
This document sets out what you are agreeing to when you make one public, and how to take that permission back.
1. What you are permitting
When you publish a certification, two things about it — the scheme it is under, and the certificate number — may be shown alongside work you are recorded as responsible for:
- on job sheets and reports produced for that work;
- to other companies who scan the QTAG on an asset you have worked on;
- to the client organisation that engaged the company you work for.
Nothing else about the certification travels with it. The dates, the certificate document you uploaded, your declaration, your signature and any images stay inside your own account.
2. What is never shown
Publishing a certification does not publish you. MyQTAG does not show your name, your contact details, your photograph or your signature to another company alongside your work. A row of shared history names the company that did the work — never the person.
3. Why we ask, per certificate
A certification is personal data, and it is yours. You may hold several and feel differently about each: a scheme you are happy to be identified with, and one you would rather not be. So permission is asked once per certificate, and one publication says nothing about the others.
Your employer cannot do this on your behalf. Nobody administering your team or the platform can publish a certification for you, and this permission cannot be given while somebody is signed in as you.
4. Withdrawing
You may withdraw a certification at any time, from the same place you published it. From that moment it stops appearing on anything newly produced.
Work already issued stands. A job sheet or report that has already been produced records what was true on the day it was made, and MyQTAG does not go back and alter it. That is not an oversight — a compliance record that changes after the fact is not a record. If a document already in circulation concerns you, contact the company that issued it.
5. What we keep
Each time you publish or withdraw a certification, MyQTAG records the act: which certificate, which of the two you did, when, the version of this document you were shown, and the network address and browser you did it from. That record is how we can demonstrate — to you, to your employer or to a regulator — that a certification was shown with your permission, and when that permission started and ended.
We keep that record for as long as we keep the certification itself.
6. If this document changes
If we change this wording, certifications you have already published stay published under the version you agreed to. You will be shown the current version the next time you publish something, and you can read it here at any time.
